Spiced pear cake

This cake works with pears as well as with garden apples. Add spices to taste: cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves.
Ingredients
- pears — 1.5–2 (depending on size)
- egg — 1
- milk — 150 ml
- butter — 100 g
- flour — 150 g
- baking powder — 10 g
- sugar — 130 g (less if the pears are sweet)
- cinnamon sugar — 30 g
- nutmeg — a pinch
- lemon juice
- salt — a pinch
Method
- Beat the egg with the sugar with a mixer until pale and thick.
- Add 50 g of softened butter and keep beating. Then pour in the milk.
- Combine the flour with the baking powder, add to the mixture and stir.
- Slice the pear thinly. Toss with cinnamon sugar, nutmeg and lemon juice. Cut half of the pear especially neatly for the top layer.
- Grease the tin with butter, spread a little batter, then some pear, then batter, pear again, batter, and arrange the pear slices neatly on top.
- Sprinkle with sugar and dot with the remaining butter.
- Bake for 40–50 minutes in an oven preheated to 180°C.
